Troop 129 Can Drive

This year (2010) marks the 75^th Anniversary of Troop 129's continued charter with the United Methodist Church of Creston, Iowa.   There's plans for a Celebration Picnic this summer and we need your help.

There's a truck bed in between the pumps at the Kum and Go on Hwy. 34 in Creston that is ready to accept your cans for redemption.   All money will go to help pay for the Celebration.

So, please stop by and drop off you cans and help us Celebrate 75 years (and going).

Annual Soup and Pie Supper

Every year, Troop 129 participates in a Soup and Pie Supper that is available to the community.   All proceeds go to the Troop with some of the money divided among the Scouts that help with the event, which includes planning, cooking, preparing, set-up, serving, clean-up, etc.

The fellowship is fun and the food is great, so come on out and support the Troop and get some nourishment while you're at it.

The Supper is held on President's Day in February every year.   Mark it on your calendar and enjoy the fun.

Popcorn Sales

Selling Trail's End Popcorn products every year is the best way for Troop 129 Scouts to earn money.

Seventy percent (70%) of every sale goes back to Scouting.   The money is then divided between the Council (MAC) and Troop 129.   The Troop then further divides the money with the Scout that sells the popcorn so a percentage of his sales goes into his individual account to be used for camps, camporees, trips, high adventures, food, and anything else Scout-related that the Troop does.

It's a great way for the Scouts to earn some money and it's the most effective means, too.

Popcorn sales are every year through the month of October.
